What disclosures should we make if we will be opening a branch on Thursdays that was previously closed on Thursdays? – IBA Compliance Connection

What disclosures should we make if we will be opening a branch on Thursdays that was previously closed on Thursdays?

As to the branch that you will be opening on Thursdays, the Illinois Promissory Note and Bank Holiday Act requires a resolution by the board of directors that terminates their prior resolution to close that branch on Thursday. The resolution must be certified by an officer in charge of the bank’s records. Further, the Act requires you to file the certified copy of the resolution with the county recorder and publish it once a week for three successive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in that county. (This is the same process required by the Act when a branch is going to remain closed on a normal business day each week.)
